Minimal Gallery is very light and simple -- you will need to resize and upload the photo yourself. But it is a nice, simple way to display pictures and photos. minimal Gallery is, as it's name implies, a media gallery system. It is meant to be minimal in design, but also in set up time, and features. If you're looking for a super full featured gallery that creates thumbnails on the fly, with FTP file upload and cappuccino machine integrated, you're in the wrong place. I wrote this very modest PHP script because I wanted an easy way to put my photos online and everything I tried was way too overblown (and kind of ugly) for my simple needs (and picky tastes).
